Welcome to TTK13 2021!
TTK13 Ultrasound instrumentation is a 3.75 credit specialization course, part of the Ultrasound Technology study program. The course is hosted at the Department of Circulation and Medical Imaging (ISB), NTNU.
TTK13 introduces the students to ultrasound technology by using problems, experiments, and discussion. It presents the main components of an ultrasound scanner and the key concepts that make ultrasound imaging possible. The course is organized in 9-10 weekly sessions of 2 hours. The students are expected to spend a similar amount of time individually to assimilate the concepts introduced during the course.
TTK13 follows the philosophy learning by doing: students face practical questions and are guided to the answers with the help of simulations and lab experience. The students are encouraged to play with the provided code. The course material is based on MATLAB.
